Update 19th February 2003: "Good News! Misty has been found today, 7 weeks after he was stolen. A further article in the local newspaper was read by a lady in Effingham (6 miles from where he was dumped) saying that she had seen a grey cat, after further leafleting of the area we were telephoned today and when we went over this evening he came to our call." - Hilary Where Is Our Dumped Cat? February 2003 ![]() Three year old tomcat Misty, he has a smokey grey colour coat and is longhaired and fluffy. Epsom, United Kingdom - A family has not given up hope of finding a pet cat after it was dumped by a neighbour miles away from home. Solicitor Andrew Lutley, wife Hilary and daughter Elizabeth, of Rookery Hill, Ashtead, are still making regular trips to the area near Dorking train station in the hope of finding their cat Misty. A woman living in Farm Lane has admitted driving Misty, a long-haired British Grey, to this neighbourhood and setting it loose. Two weeks ago they followed up reports of a cat believed to be Misty but discovered it instead to be a stray - now given a home by the family. The Lutleys started to look for Misty - who has a triangular-shaped piece of white fur under its chin - on 16th December, 2002. Then were told by a neighbour that a woman living in Farm Lane was concerned Misty was going into her garden and did not want it there while she went on holiday to France. She told the Lutleys on her mobile phone that she had taken it to Dorking, Surrey. Now, she has identified the spot on the map. Mr Lutley said he wished to make no comment about her "extraordinary" action. If anyone has any news of Misty the family can be contacted on *****-****** (UK) or by e-mail to Padraig. A reward is being offered to the finder plus a donation to the charity of their choice. |
