Billy Mitten

Billy MittenI ended up with my lovely black and white cat - Billy Mitten - by advertising for a kitten as a friend for my Siamese Dolly Mixture who was very lonely as her friend and mother had unfortunately died.

When I went to see him as a 12 week old kitten I found out that his mother's owner had died and she had had her kittens and abandoned them.

It was lucky the next door neighbour found them and took them home and he had seen my advert and thought he would be suitable. However, when I got him home he proceeded to sit in the corner of the room and growl at me, my partner, Dollie and Barney the poor dog who was only a pup himself!

I began to wonder what I had took on. In time however he became a loving and friendly cat who likes cuddles and got on well with my other pets.

Then poor Dollie became ill and after a lot of time at the vets also died, but as he got on so well with Barney I decided not to get another cat as I was moving house in a few months. I moved house and all was well until my mum thought Billy should have a flea collar put on and he had an allergic reaction to it. Then he became a growling cat again and hid at every opportunity to avoid his anti-biotics and cream, and while he was hiding he also began weeing and pooing in very unsociable places!

Again, I thought to myself what have I took on. My friend would say to me why don't you get rid of him and I was quite shocked at this. However, I persevered with him and he is the most loving and very bossy cat and he is my best friend and I love him to bits.
