Kitty Haiku

Haiku is a traditional Japanese verse form. It is never longer than 3 lines, contains only 17 syllables and yet creates imagery in the mind of the reader.

Do you have a Kitty Haiku that you would like to share? Please send any cattish Haiku's to Padraig for inclusion on this page.

Cat Haiku by: Neko.

Busy with chasing,
Greeblingz, do not bother or,
I will bite your hand.

Cat Haiku by: Fred Siedow, Texas, USA.

Run, Leap, o'er couch, chair.
Up to cupboard top - Ah, Ha!
You can't catch me here!

Beautiful Kitty,
asleep on chair - I get cam'ra,
cat sense thought, move.

Nice black cat, poor thing...
Mean neighbours hate her; why, would
they want to kill her?

I, who always spurned
poetry, but loved Cats, now
can write Cat Haiku!

I'm so brave, strong, caught
big grasshopper, Wonderful!
See - You want my prize?

Oh Boy! cardboard box!
Have to see, get in; Oh no...
Empty! Where's the treat?

Birds flutter, outside...
I must hunt, why I know not.
I caught one - now what?

Birds flutter, outside,
I caught; why I know not... I
bring for my master.
