My name is Sandy Kolod and I live in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA. My website is www.katfriends.com. I am a cat artist. My paintings are all watercolour, very heavy with the colour. My katfriends are all happy kats! Fun, whimsical and colourful, a delight to behold. I am a graduate of the Art Institute of Pittsburgh... long time ago. A few years ago, I took a break from working in the real world to explore my true love, which is painting. I picked up a paint brush and something magical happened. Cats of all colours and in all sorts of crazy situations danced in my mind. When I transformed these ideas onto paper, I could not believe what I was seeing! My inspiration came from my passion for cats. These are my babies, King Symba, a Himalayan and CoCo Beans, my tiny Persian. They might look mean, but they are the sweetest, most loving cats I've ever had (actually, they have me). I took my work to gift shops and it was bought up for resale like crazy! I went on tour to various art festivals and patrons of these shows fell in love with my art and purchased prints for themselves and their cat loving friends. Even non-cat lovers like my work and buy it for friends. One thing I noticed, everyone, without exception, smiles when they enter into my booth and see my art. The painting above is titled "Katfriends at the Bonfire" and is enhanced with glitter for added glitz. It measures 11 inches by 14 inches and arrives professionally matted to a finished size of 16 inches by 20 inches. I have it hanging over my fireplace. The signed prints are $55 plus $10 shipping.
