About three years ago our cat Zefa who was then only 5 months old had a run-in with a mouse in our kitchen. I heard rustling under the kitchen sink, opened the cabinet door and a mouse darted out, run between my legs, across the kitchen floor and straight behind the cooker. Zefa our feline cat flew into the air, then jumped onto the kitchen table and ended up hiding in her covered litter box! I laughed so hard I fell and was rolling around in hysterics when my husband David ran in to see what the commotion was. We discovered a hole in the wall next to an air-brick, that was most likely where the mouse had arrived. We sealed the hole with some wood and backed it up with a heavy brick temporarily until we could do a proper job of it. It took us nearly an hour to coax Zefa out of her litter box and into the living room, she was so nervous! And the mouse was still in the kitchen hiding somewhere. It was the first time I have ever seen a cat so nervous and afraid, but of a mouse! It was not until the day after that we finally cornered the mouse and unceremoniously kicked him out! |
