Kittens do not take long to adjust to their new home, away from mother and the rest of the litter. They tend to sleep rather a lot and should be settled down at your bedtime after the last feed for the day. It often helps to put a hot water bottle under a layer or two of blankets.
Protect the kitten from draughts, possibly with a soft, washable blanket or cushion in a carton or basket. Do not disturb it from then until the morning.
