The Blue Cross is an animal welfare charity which exists to foster the bonds of friendship between people and animals, relieve the suffering of animals who have been injured, extend and promote pet-ownership, and add to the quality of human life. At the present moment it operates 11 pet adoption centres, 4 animal hospitals, and 2 equine centres throughout the UK.
The Blue Cross receives no government funding at all, and is entirely dependent on voluntary donations for its vital work. There is a variety of ways to raise money for them (e.g. stalls at fairs, raffles, jumble sales, sponsored events) please contact them for more information.
