Farewell Beauty

Beauty

Beauty (The real King of England)
21st July 1993 - 11th November 2002

Beauty

We face exigencies, failure, love, even death,
Our spirits droop and we go on...

What we are is all that matters,
you've given us these moments
that we treasure, a miaow, a motion
toward trust and understanding.

Is this enough for tomorrow...
We thank you, bit of fluff and spirit.

We shared: a feline and those we call,
"Humankind and animal,"
In joining paw and hand.

What can I say? I have never had a favourite cat, all cats are favourites with me, but Beauty was very special, I will miss him a great deal.

Beauty, the sweetest of cats, my little furrball when he arrived at my home only eight weeks old, a wonderful companion for over nine years. Farewell to The real King of England, we will meet again in a different place. Your time was not wasted, you bought great joy to many. There will always be a big place in my heart for you.

Now buried with his favourite toys, many good moments to savour and keep. So long Wag-a-lot! Be good and cheerful and chase those cloud mice whenever you get the chance. When you get to Rainbow Bridge, give a big purr to Tinkerbell, Puska, Sandy and Claudia and of course Little Lady your companion for almost three years.

Padraig - November 2002

Four Feet in Heaven

Your favourite chair is vacant now,
No eager purrs to greet me,
No softly padded paws to run
ecstatically to meet me.

No coaxing rubs, no plaintive cry,
Will say it's time for feeding,
I've put away your bowl and
all the things you won't be needing.

But I will miss you, little friend,
For I could never measure,
The happiness you brought to me
the comfort and the pleasure.

And since God put you here to share,
In earthly joys and sorrow,
I'm sure there'll be a place for you
in heaven's bright tomorrow.
