Many of these Rescue Centres getting awards have helped sick and abused animals for years, a life time of dedication, one such centre is the Paws Animal Sanctuary in Findon, Sussex run by Stacey McSprite, who has been rescuing small animals for over 30 years. Many celebrities attending the show include, Ann Widdecombe MP, Nick Knowles, John Altman (Nasty Nick in Eastenders) Nicola Duffett, Lorraine Chase, Jenny Seagrove and DJ David Hamilton, Susan Jameson, Gary Webster, Anthea Turner, Sherrie Hewson (Loose Women) Roger Mugford (Dog Behaviourist) Clarissa Baldwin from Dogs Trust, OK Magazine, WSPA and Network For Animals and our Presenter for the afternoon is the lovely Wendy Turner Webster with Ingrid Tarrant interviewing celebrities and guests. The Event is to promote and champion the smaller, less well known rescue organizations, and to say "Thank you" to the people who run them. With a huge 45 percent drop in donations last year, many have struggled so much, and this is to give them some much needed publicity and a small reward by way of a trophy for years of dedicated work. They are the forgotten people of the animal world. There is also a special award for our brave RAF sniffer dogs and handlers too, the 3 dogs and 7 handlers will be presented with a Bravery Cup for their courage and presented by Lord Craig of Radley OBE for helping our Armed Forces when taken to Afghanistan and other places for action. Our other big event is our annual Wetnose Fund raising Day which is on Friday the 25th June, 2010, and our theme this year is "Tea Party" so pots of tea for pots of money. This year radio stations will ask people to bid for a celebrity they can have tea with at the Ritz in London, or houses of parliament, the highest bid gets the biggest star.
