One-and-a-half-year-old Tonto, of Ashleigh Road, has made it through to the next round to find the best cat with the Felix Factor - a hunt to find a cat as lovable and entertaining as black-and-white TV advert cat Felix. The cream and brown Birman-type cat was entered into the competition by owner Pippa Smith and husband James, along with the couple's two other cats - Snoops, 14, and Sausage, 2. If Tonto is crowned overall winner he will scoop his owners a holiday and a camcorder and win himself a year's supply of cat food. Mrs Smith said Tonto had been with her family for most of his life after being adopted from the Cats Protection League. "He's a Christmas card cat. We went out there to get some Christmas cards, had a little look around and ended up coming home with him!" "He's a loveable character, full of fun and very mischievous. We have got lots of trees in our garden and he adores running up them." "He's only got one eye. It was quite badly ulcerated when he came in as a stray. He's fine about it - I worry more about it than he does." "I hope the judges will think he has the Felix Factor and I have my fingers crossed that we will win."
