Sam Companion to Anna Campbell from London, UK. ![]() This is Sam. He came to live with me (or rather to take control of me and the house) from Battersea Dogs and Cats Home in September 2005. Since his arrival he has proved to be something of a character, showing a penchant for exposing his extremely fluffy tummy at any opportunity, a great talent for playing tennis with pieces of screwed up paper, and a possible indication that he was a dog in a former life. He's developing the habit of coming to tell me when things happen elsewhere in the house... for example a text message arriving on my mobile, which he alerts me to in the style of Lassie, shouting at me until I follow him then nudging the phone with his head! I know my place in the pecking order but I wouldn't be without him! ![]() ![]() As you will see from the close up picture of his feet he is a polydactyl cat with 7 toes on each of his front feet and 6 on each of his back one. He uses these giant paws very effectively as tennis rackets and also rather disturbingly to open doors by hooking his "thumb" round it and pulling!
